Using Free Blog Themes To Spice Up Your Blog Design
It used to be that if you wanted a professional looking site you had to pay big bucks to get a designer to do it. These days all you need to do is a quick Wordpress installation and you're well on your way to a site that looks like it took thousands of dollars to design. Finding free themes is the fastest way to give your blog the makeover it deserves.
You might be wondering why people would give away themes for free in the first place. The main reason is because they often include a link to their website in the footer of the theme. This is great for them because they get tons of relevant links to their site from people who install their blogging theme. You can benefit from this because the link is hardly noticeable, and you get the the design for free!
There are many different free blog themes out there so it can be hard to decide which one to go with. The first thing you should do is a search in Google for "your niche WP theme". If there is a theme out there that is a match you'll likely run across it that way.
If you're very stuck and just can't find a good theme you can search through the database they have at Wordpress.org. That site allows you to sort by color, style, and many other criteria as well.
Hopefully you will have found a great theme that you can put to use right away. If you can't seem to find that one perfect one -- don't get too hung up! It's very easy to change the theme down the road. All you need to do is upload the theme folder that you download from the Internet to the wp-content area under themes. Then, you'll activate the theme in your wp-admin area, and you're done designing!
While you can certainly choose any theme you prefer, there are some things you should keep in mind when choosing your theme. The first is to make sure your background is white. There are successful sites out there that have a dark background, but studies have shown that people can read darker colors on top of white better than they can the other way around. Always keep your reader at the top of your mind.
javascript:void(0)
You also need to carefully consider how many sidebars you're going to choose. This is very important as some sidebars will allow for better ad positioning than others. Test different ones and see what you like!
If you can't find anything you like, browse through other blogs. You're bound to see something that interests you. When you choose one you can scroll to the very bottom to see which theme they are using. The free themes usually have the name present. You can follow the link through to download it yourself and you're done!
Using free blog themes is a great, instant, way to make sure your blog has a professional design your visitors will love. Get inspired today!
Tomorrow I'll talk about 4 ways to increase traffic to your blog.. after all a blog isn't any good without visitors is it? Stay tuned...

New Blogging Software
New Blogging Software
By micha101
Another piece of the puzzle is choosing the right affiliate programs. Some of the other blogging guides gloss over this part — but it’s oh-so crucial! If you aren’t choosing good affiliate products or other things that actually sell, you’re going to be hard pressed to make any income to speak of online.
We did find the order of the book to be a little bit confusing. Thenext portion talks about setting up your domain and hosting. While itmight be better placed at the front of the book, the previous sectionswere probably first to give you an idea of where you’re going before you get there. After you get Atomic Blogging you’ll probably want to read through it one time first and then go back to implement it.
Then you get to the good stuff like scoping out competitor’skeywords to beat them, which plugins to use, guest blogging, forummarketing, etc. It’s this section that more advanced bloggers are goingto get the most out of. The chances are good that there are a fewtidbits you haven’t come across before.See my Free email course about blogging software and the FREE Ebooks on my site:

3 Different Ways To Monetize Your Blog
Choosing how to monetize your blog is a huge decision! There are many different options and it can be difficult to judge which type your readers will respond to most. Take a look at these different options, and make your choice with your readers and the market overall in mind.
Option 1: Adsense
Adsense is probably the easiest way to monetize -- and the most difficult! It's easy because it's just a simple code that Google gives you (they even automatically match up the ads for you!). You make money as soon as someone clicks on your ads, whether they actually go on to make a purchase or not. Adsense can also be incredibly difficult. You usually get paid a few cents per click and it can take a lot of traffic for it to add up to something that is even remotely worth your while.
Adsense might be a good thing to test, especially as you're getting your feet wet with blogging. If you're in the right market and find the right ad positions and colors, it can certainly turn into a nice hands-off income for you.
Option 2: Affiliate Products
Selling products as an affiliate is a great way to make money. For one thing, you get to earn money from the products without having to fulfill them yourself or deal with customer service issues. Nothing is better than that! The returns are usually higher than with Adsense, provided you're able to find an offer that converts well with the people who visit your website.
You will have to decide if you want to promote digital or physical products. This decision will likely come down to what kind of niche you're in and how your site visitors will respond.
Option 3: Creating Your Own Products
After you get a loyal following of readers it's easier than ever to create and sell your own information product! You'll have to fulfill the orders and deal with customer service issues, but the tradeoff is that you get to keep all the money! You are also the one who knows your readers best, so you're likely to come up with an offer that converts extremely well since it's exactly what they want.
You can write an ebook, create a membership site, deliver a paid e-course, create a video series, or record audio. If you want to make the package even better you can combine a few different approaches to add massive value. The options are endless when it comes to monetizing with your own products. Some of your blog readers might eventually want to become an affiliate of yours as well!
As you look at these different options you might start to feel overwhelmed. That's perfectly normal! It's hard to know what the best path is when you're just starting out with a new niche. A good way to get a feel for the best way to do things is to see what other blogs and sites in your niche are doing. You're not trying to copy them, you're simply taking note of what works and using it yourself.

5 Blogging Plugins You Must Use
5 Blogging Plugins You Must Use
Plugins for the Wordpress platform are tons of fun and incredibly useful. You'll find everything you need to turn your blog into something that is every bit as great as you would have imagined. While there are many plugins out there that are worth your while, the five that follow are the cream of the crop.
Akismet
This plugin actually comes standard with your Wordpress installation. You will have to get a Wordpress.com API key to make it work, but after you do it's pure bliss. It keeps spam comments away automatically! Akismet is smart enough to put suspected spam into a separate folder, and it even learns from you as you go. Always activate this plugin for the best results with your blog. It saves you a ton of time too!
Linking to different pages in your blog from every page is a great search engine optimization tactic. The problem with blogs is that it can be so hard to dig through old posts that are related and manually link them in your new post. Related posts solves that problem! It will automatically insert some relevant posts for your blog. It's very hands-off and very effective. Both visitors and search engines love this plugin.
All in One SEO Pack
Once again, optimizing your site for the search engines is going to be one of the best ways you can make money with your blog. The higher you rank, the more traffic you get. The more traffic you get the more money you make! The All In One SEO pack makes your life easier because it allows you to specify the title, description (that will show up in the search engines), and keywords.
Wordpress Database Backup
Backing up your blog is crucial if you value your business. You never know what could happen to your server, and it would be devastating to lose everything. This plugin allows you to easily back everything up by pressing a few simple buttons.
Top Commentators
This plugin is really cool and it encourages a lot of interaction on your blog. It lists the people who have the most comments within your blog. They love this because they get the extra exposure. You love it because people really get into posting to try and be at the top. It also gives social proof. When people visit a blog for the first time they are more likely to stick around if there are clearly other people there who value your content. The fact that they can see others participating is a great thing.
There are an incredible number of different plugins out there that are ready for you to use. Install these essentials and you'll be well-prepared to become the great blogger you're going to become. See my free email course about successful blogging

Blog Paycheck Every Month
Blog Paycheck
Blog Paycheck is a book that is just OK. With that being said, there are probably a few things you can learn from this edition, though your money may be better off spent on a different ebook, depending on your blogging goals and current level of expertise.
The book starts off by giving a history of blogging and various facts. These are good things to know if you hadn't heard them before, but they aren't exactly applicable to your income goals. Still, Blog Paycheck can't be faulted for starting with the very beginning of blogs.Blog Paycheck continues on with some more general information on registering a domain name, setting up hosting, etc. There are some screenshots to help you if you're unfamiliar with how to do these things. There is also discussion about posting to your blog and getting traffic. This part of the book was just fine, it's the next portion that will make or break this book for you.
